Advanced Dental Technology for Your Comfort

We use state-of-the-art technology in every aspect of our Bloomington dental practice, from diagnosis and treatment to long-term maintenance plans. In addition to making dentistry more effective and efficient for Dr. Matha and our team, advancements in dental technology also improve your experience as a patient.

Whether they’re saving you time, making your visits more comfortable, or helping Dr. Matha give you the smile of your dreams, our modern technologies will completely change the way you think about going to the dentist.

The Wand®

We know that many patients dread the novocaine injection. At Normandale Dental, Dr. Matha understands this phobia and empathizes with his patients. That is why he uses the Wand for the majority of his treatments. With this technology, Dr. Matha is able to place a small amount of local anesthetic around the tooth being treated with a wand-like instrument that delivers the medicine in a controlled, pressure responsive system. This results in only the tooth being treated being numbed. Call us to schedule your gentle dentist appointment today!

SOPROLIFE® Intraoral Camera

Like dental X-rays, digital photographs taken with our SOPROLIFE intraoral camera are a useful diagnostic and patient education tool. Bloomington dentist Dr. Avi Matha uses these photos to show you what he sees during your exam and to guide you through your diagnosis and treatment options. The photos also enable Dr. Matha to assess hard-to-reach areas (like the back molars) that can be difficult to see during a standard visual exam.

These images help you feel confident in your diagnosis and treatment plans because you will be able to see the problem area (if there are any) for your own eyes. The SOPROLIFE intraoral camera allows you to be an active, informed participant in your oral health.

We look forward to treating you.

Digital X-rays

Bloomington MN Digital X-ray Technology

If it’s been a while since you last had dental X-rays taken, we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the comfort and speed of digital X-rays. Digital X-rays emit less radiation than conventional X-rays and don’t require any lengthy chemical processing, so the images are available on our computer screen within seconds.

We use standard digital X-rays in most of the dental exams we perform at our Bloomington dental practice, because many serious problems with the teeth and facial bones can’t be seen during a standard visual exam. X-rays give Dr. Matha the ability to diagnose:

  • Deep Cavities & Decay Between Teeth
  • Decay Below Existing Restorations
  • Infections in the Jaw Bones
  • Abscesses, Cysts, & Some Tumors
  • Developmental Abnormalities

We look forward to treating you.
